Destiny Discover (OPAC - Online Catalog)

• Check out the ebooks and audiobooks Novi Middle School has to offer.

• If you have a library card, this is one of the easiest ways to access materials, through their online portals like Overdrive and Hoopla. 

• This is a free collection of current teen audiobooks available during the COVID-19 school outages.

• This collection offers full text titles with unlimited access designed specifically to support a quality learning experience for students.

• Here's a list of web comics available for free. Some are complete and have been turned into full graphic novels. Scroll down to YA section.

• This is a variety of ebooks, including a lot of nonfiction.

• Lit2Go offers classic novels for free.

• If you are looking for classics and older texts, Project Gutenberg may be for you. 

Our curbside library service is available 24 hours a day, Monday - Thursday, and Fridays until 2:00 pm for virtual students. Requested books will remain in the curbside library throughout the week, but will be removed Friday by 2:00 p.m.

Our curbside book return is available for use by both virtual and in-person students 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Novi Public Library

Novi Public Library provides the resources and programs to support the educational, cultural, informational and recreational needs of its diverse community.

All resources are linked below. A username and password is needed for American History Online, Issues and Controversies and World News Digest. Britannica School, Explora, History Reference, Opposing Viewpoints, Read It and Science Reference Center may also be accessed through the MeL link. Once in MeL, search for the eResource by name.

• This database spans more than 500 years of political, military, social and cultural history to cover the American experience. See Mrs. Wesner, or the Library Media Center Schoology Page, for Login ID and Password to be used at home.

• Unlimited access to Britannica School through MeL.  

• Easybib helps students format work cited pages for MLA, APA and Chicago styles.  

• Magazines and reference books for middle school students. Includes thousands of biographies and primary source documents. Subjects include history, current events, science, sports, and biographies. Also includes photos, maps, and flags.

• A free and respected reference for Internet uses that provides a comprehensive encyclopedia, almanac, atlas, dictionary and more.

• Michigan eLibrary- links to several databases on various topics.  Access if free for Michigan residents.

• A site to help build reading skills and improve study habits with ELL students. 

• Science World brings science current events and other scientific discoveries to your classroom.

• Scope Magazine contains stories across genres, allows for differentiation for three different lexile levels and has other features, including nonfiction, paired texts and grammar, to support readers of all levels.  See Mrs. Wesner, or the Library Media Center Schoology Page, for username and password information.

• Upfront is a great news magazine for middle school students. It keeps up to date with current events, while connecting issues to your curriculum. See Mrs. Wesner, or the Library Media Center Schoology Page, for username and password information.

• IXL is a comprehensive math practice site for 7th graders.  See your math teacher for class code.

• This site contains safe images that are available for educational purposes and include citations.

• Monday-Friday 8:20 a.m. -  3:11 p.m.
• Students are welcome at all times during the day, as long as a pass is provided by their teacher

• Circulation
  • Students may borrow books and playaways for two weeks
  • Students may renew books for an additional two weeks
  • Three items may be checked out at a time
  • Students who have overdue items will be unable to check out more items
  • Students are required to pay for lost or damaged items at the end of the school year
  • Refunds for lost items will be given up until the last day of school

Novi Community Schools uses Schoology as its learning management system. If you are a new student, it takes approximately 24 hours to get your information into the system. Each teacher has a Schoology page to which you have been added. To access your Schoology Courses, please follow the directions below. 

Student Directions:

1. Go to novi.schoology.com

2. Login using your email as your username and your email’s password as your password

3. Click Courses at the top of the page

4. All courses in which you are enrolled will appear

5. Click into each course to view its content

6. To Join a Course (eg: Counseling, Library Media Center, Co-Teacher)

• Go to Courses

• Click My Courses

• Click Join Course

  • Add course code given to you by the teacher

Parent Directions:

Each teacher has a Schoology page to which your child has been added. To access your student’s Schoology classes, please follow the directions below. You will need a Parent Access Code, which has been specifically added for your student. Your child’s A20 teacher will give you the code and the one code works for all classes. 

Please note: If you have registered for Schoology in a previous school year, you can simply log in to view your child’s courses this year. If you have a child new to Schoology, you will need to add them.

Parents: Register to view your child’s Schoology pages

1. Go to www.schoology.com

2. Click Sign Up at the top of the page and select Parent

3. Enter your Parent Access Code. This Is a 12-digit code in xxxx-xxxx-xxxx format that you receive from one of your child’s teachers

4. Fill out the form with your information

5. Click Register to complete

6. You can add additional children to your account using by clicking the down-facing arrow in the top right of your Schoology account, select the Add Child button and enter the Parent Access Code of your other child/children

1. Activate your account for the 1st time from a desktop.
2. Download the Schoology app from the App Store, Google Play, or Amazon Store
3. Select Log In Using Your School
4. Type in Novi Middle School
5. Select the Novi Middle School with the Blue Dot next to its name
6. Log in with your School Google email and password
7. Approve Schoology’s permissions
8. Click the Menu bars in the upper left
9. Select Account Settings
10.  Click on the Notifications tab
11. Decide which types of Notifications you would like emailed to you
12. Go into your Notification Settings on your iphone and allow Schoology Notifications on your phone
